General Riding Etiquette

  1. We leave as a group and we return as a group.
  2. The first rider will wait at a confirmed point so that all the other riders can catch up.
  3. If a rider falls then the next rider will stop to assess the situation.
  4. If you get lost, do not despair as you will be found. Follow these easy steps:
At the point you realize that you are lost switch off your bike and listen for other riders.
If you do not hear other riders take a moment to survey you surroundings, it may look familiar. If you do not recognise your surroundings take note of where you are, (make some sort of beacon), then proceed back from where you were coming till the first junction that you cross, here you must wait till somebody finds you. Do not proceed on your own, unless you are experienced.
If you are in a local community ask for help or directions to the nearest familiar place.
  5. Riders that invite friends must take full responsibility to ensure that their friends are not left behind. The group on a whole will do a full count at every point of confirmation.
  6. Should a guest rider feel that an easier route needs to be taken then the Host rider will oblige so that the guest does not get lost.
  7. If there is a breakdown or an injury then the group must not deviate from contingency plans.
  8. If you come across riders on the same path from the opposite direction, inform them of how many riders are still behind you.
  9. Always offer assistance where possible.
  10. Go out, have fun and ride at your own pace.
